     Hugh de Stafford, 2nd Earl of Stafford was born circa 1342.^1,2 He was the son of Ralph de Stafford, 1st Earl of Stafford and Margaret Audley, Baroness Audley.¹ He married Philippa de Beauchamp, daughter of Thomas de Beauchamp, 11th Earl of Warwick and Katherine Mortimer, before 1 March 1351.³ He died on 13 October 1386.²
     He succeeded as the 3rd Lord Audley [E., 1317] circa 1358.¹ He fought in the Hundred Years War in 1359, in Aquitaine.² He fought in the Hundred Years War in 1367, in Spain.² He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Stafford [E., 1351] on 31 August 1372.¹ He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1375/76.²
