Major Herbert Charles Coningsey Tippet was baptised on 27 February 1892 at St. Woollos, Monmouthshire, Wales.1 He was the son of Major Charles Henry Tippet and Edith Alice Goodson.1 He married Edith Marguerite Harrington, daughter of George Woods Harrington and Alice Edith Stillman, in 1921 at St. Martin's-in-the-Fields, London, England.1 He died on 28 November 1947 at age 55 at Sussex, England.2
He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant on 2 April 1910 in the 4th (Reserve) Battalion, Royal Dublin Fusiliers.1 He fought in the First World War, at the Somme and Passchendale.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Captain on 26 May 1940 in the General List.1 He gained the rank of Honorary Major on 1 January 1944.1
