     Susanna Grierson is the daughter of James Grierson of Capenoch and Catherine Sharp.1,2 She married Sir Thomas Kirkpatrick of Closeburn, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Thomas Kirkpatrick of Closeburn, 2nd Bt. and Isobel Lockhart.1
     Her married name became Kirkpatrick.

Sir James Kirkpatrick of Closeburn, 4th Bt.1

     Sir James Kirkpatrick of Closeburn, 4th Bt. was the son of Sir Thomas Kirkpatrick of Closeburn, 3rd Bt. and Susanna Grierson.2 He married unknown daughter Jardine in 1771.1 He died on 7 June 1804.1
     He was a practising Advocate on 4 January 1758.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Kirkpatrick, of Closeburn [N.S., 1685] in October 1771.1 He sold Closeburn estate in 1783.1

     Grizel Kirkpatrick was the daughter of Sir Thomas Kirkpatrick of Closeburn, 3rd Bt. and Susanna Grierson.2 She married Hon. Robert Sandilands, son of James Sandilands, 7th Lord Torphichen and Hon. Jean Hume.1 She died on 10 February 1776.2
     Her married name became Sandilands.

James Sandilands, 7th Lord Torphichen1

     James Sandilands, 7th Lord Torphichen was born after 1671. He was the son of Walter Sandilands, 6th Lord Torphichen and Christian Primrose.2 He married Hon. Jean Hume, daughter of Patrick Hume, 1st Earl of Marchmont and Grizel Ker, in 1703.2 He died on 10 August 1753.2
     He succeeded as the 7th Lord Torphichen, of Saint John of Torphichen, West Lothian [S., 1564] in May 1696.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1702 in the Earl of Mar's Regiment of Foot.2 He gained the rank of Captain in 1709 in the 7th Hussars.2 He gained the rank of Major in February 1711/12.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel between 1713 and 1722.2 He fought in the Battle of Sheriffmuir in 1715.2 He held the office of Burgess of Edinburgh in 1717.2 He held the office of Commissioner of Police.2

     Hon. Robert Sandilands was the son of James Sandilands, 7th Lord Torphichen and Hon. Jean Hume.2 He married Grizel Kirkpatrick, daughter of Sir Thomas Kirkpatrick of Closeburn, 3rd Bt. and Susanna Grierson.1 He died on 18 May 1791.2
     He gained the rank of Officer in the Scottish Brigade in Dutch service and Lord Aberdour's Light Dragoons.2
