     Thomas Dudley Persse was born on 13 March 1914.¹ He was the son of Alexander Annesley Persse and Henrietta Mary Gibbings.² He married Olive Duhan Tennant Eliot, daughter of George Augustus Eliot, on 4 May 1946.¹ He died on 18 February 2000 at age 85 at Cape Town, Cape Province, South Africa.³
     He was educated at Diocesan College, Rondebosch, Cape Province, South Africa^G.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of officer in the North Rhodesia Regiment.¹ He was appointed Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants (F.C.A.)¹ He lived in 1976 at 25 Gibson Road, Kenilworth, Cape Province, South Africa.¹

     Melissa Beverley Eliot Persse was born on 19 February 1947.¹ She is the daughter of Thomas Dudley Persse and Olive Duhan Tennant Eliot.^2,1 She married Richard lain Kenneth Jesse, son of Kenneth Murchison Jesse, on 24 January 1969.¹
     From 24 January 1969, her married name became Jesse.¹
