Major William Arthur Persse was born on 8 September 1863.1 He was the son of Major William Norton Persse and Rose Mesham.2 He married Katherine Ellen Gehle, daughter of Lt.-Col. Henry John Wolsteyn Gehle, on 18 January 1894.1 He died on 25 July 1925 at age 61.1
