     Lt.-Col. George Everard Hope was born on 4 November 1886.¹ He was the son of Henry Walter Hope and Lady Mary Catherine Constance Primrose.¹ He married Margaret Cockton, daughter of John Cockton, on 8 April 1911.¹ He died on 10 October 1917 at age 30 at Belgium, killed in action.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Fife.¹ He was educated at Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Grenadier Guards.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Acting Lieutenant-Colonel in the Lancashire Fusiliers.¹ He lived at Luffness, East Lothian, Scotland^G.¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹

     Henry Walter Hope was born on 17 August 1839.¹ He was the son of George William Hope and Hon. Caroline Georgiana Montagu-Scott.¹ He married Lady Mary Catherine Constance Primrose, daughter of Archibald John Primrose, Lord Dalmeny and Lady Catherine Lucy Wilhelmina Stanhope, on 8 October 1885.¹ He died on 25 October 1913 at age 74.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Grenadier Guards.¹ He lived at Luffness, East Lothian, Scotland^G.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of East Lothian and Fifeshire.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for East Lothian and Fifeshire.¹

     Constance Maud Fletcher was the daughter of James Fletcher.¹ She married Colonel Montagu Hope, son of George William Hope and Hon. Caroline Georgiana Montagu-Scott, on 2 November 1876.¹ She and Colonel Montagu Hope were divorced in 1882.¹ She died in 1914.¹
     Her married name became Hope.

     Brig.-Gen. Henry Hope was the son of Hon. Charles Hope-Vere and Lady Anne Vane.³ He married Sarah Jones, daughter of Reverend John Jones.¹ He died on 13 April 1789, without issue.¹
     He held the office of Lieutenant-Governor of Canada.¹

     Elizabeth Caroline Foster married Ian Jarman, son of Neil Jarman and Anne Jennifer Murray, in 1989.¹
     From 1989, her married name became Jarman.¹

     Stephen Andrew Jarman was born in 1994.¹ He is the son of Ian Jarman and Elizabeth Caroline Foster.¹

     Charles Hope-Vere was the son of Hon. Charles Hope-Vere and Lady Anne Vane.² He married Susan Anne Sawyer, daughter of Admiral unknown Sawyer.¹ He died on 10 September 1808.¹
     He was Commissioner of Chatham Docks.¹

     Richard Allen married Frances Ann Jarman, daughter of Neil Jarman and Anne Jennifer Murray, in 1989.¹

     Admiral Sir George Hope-Vere was born on 6 July 1767.³ He was the son of Hon. Charles Hope-Vere and Helen Dunbar.³ He married, firstly, Lady Jemima Hope Johnstone, daughter of James Hope Johnstone, 3rd Earl of Hopetoun and Lady Elizabeth Carnegie, in 1803.¹ He married, secondly, Hon. Georgiana Mary Anne Kinnaird, daughter of George Kinnaird, 7th Lord Kinnaird and Elizabeth Ransom, in 1814.³ He died on 2 May 1818 at age 50.³
     He gained the rank of Admiral in the Royal Navy.³ He lived at Carriden, West Lothian, Scotland^G.¹ He held the office of Lord of the Admiralty.² He fought in the Napoleonic Wars.² He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.)¹
