Rear-Admiral Hon. George Frederick Hotham was born on 20 October 1799.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Beaumont Hotham and Philadelphia Dyke.1 He married Lady Susan Maria O'Brien, daughter of William O'Brien, 2nd Marquess of Thomond and Elizabeth Trotter, on 12 August 1824.2 He died on 19 October 1856 at age 56.1
