Agnes Elphinstone was born on 27 October 1579.2 She was the daughter of Alexander Elphinstone, 4th Lord Elphinstone and Jean Livingstone.3 She married John Gordon, 13th Earl of Sutherland, son of Alexander Gordon, 12th Earl of Sutherland and Lady Jean Gordon, on 1 February 1600.1 She died on 18 September 1617 at age 37.3

Alexander Elphinstone, 4th Lord Elphinstone was born on 28 May 1552.1 He was the son of Robert Elphinstone, 3rd Lord Elphinstone and Margaret Drummond.2 A contract for the marriage of Alexander Elphinstone, 4th Lord Elphinstone and Jean Livingstone was signed on 10 April 1575.1,3 He died on 14 January 1637/38 at age 85.1,3
He held the office of Lord High Treasurer [Scotland] between 1599 and 1601.1 He held the office of Extraordinary Lord of Session between 1599 and 1610.1 He succeeded as the 4th Lord Elphinstone [S., 1510] on 18 May 1602.1 In 1626 following litigation John, Earl of Mar, recovered Kildrummy and other Aberdeenshire estates on the grounds that they had not been King James IV's to grant when he did so to the 1st Lord Elphinstone.1

Marion Seton was born after 1527. She was the daughter of George Seton, 4th Lord Seton and Elizabeth Hay.2,1 She married, firstly, John Graham, 4th Earl of Menteith, son of William Graham, 3rd Earl of Menteith and Margaret Moubray, on 8 October 1548.2 She married, secondly, John Gordon, 11th Earl of Sutherland, son of Alexander Gordon, Master of Sutherland and Lady Janet Stewart, after 1564.1 She died on 23 June 1567 at Dunrobin, ScotlandG, from poisoning, along with her husband.1
