     Thomas Cubitt was born on 25 February 1788 at Buxton, Norfolk, EnglandG.1,3 He was the son of Jonathan Cubitt and Agnes Scarlett.4 He married Mary Anne Warner, daughter of Samuel Warner, in 1819.4 He died on 20 December 1855 at age 67 at Denbies, Surrey, EnglandG.1,3
     He was an eminent builder on the Westminster and Lowndes estates (including Belgrave Square, Lowndes Square and Chesham Place in London.)1 He lived at Denbies, Surrey, EnglandG.4 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of Nationary Biography.5

     He was Captain of the Guard to Mary, Queen of Scots in 1566.2 He lived at Traquair, Peebles-shire, ScotlandG.2

Mary Anne Warner1

     Mary Anne Warner was the daughter of Samuel Warner.1 She married Thomas Cubitt, son of Jonathan Cubitt and Agnes Scarlett, in 1819.2 She died on 19 November 1880 at Denbies, Surrey, EnglandG.3
     From 1819, her married name became Cubitt.2

     Sir William Stewart, 5th of Traquair was the son of William Stewart, 2nd of Traquair and Christian Hay.2 He died on 20 May 1605, without issue.1
     He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)1 He was Gentleman of the Bedchamber to King James VI.1 He was Keeper of Dumbarton Castle in 1582.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Peebles-shire between 1593 and 1604.1

Alexander Stewart, 2nd Earl of Buchan1

     Alexander Stewart, 2nd Earl of Buchan was the son of James Stewart, 1st Earl of Buchan and Margaret Ogilvy.1 He married, firstly, Isabel Ogilvy, daughter of Sir James Ogilvy of Airlie, 1st Lord Ogilvy of Airlie and Elene Douglas, before 20 May 1491.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Ruthven, daughter of William Ruthven, 1st Lord Ruthven and Isabel Livingstone, before 1499.1 He had dispensation to marry Isabel Ogilvy from Pope Innocent VIII as within 4 degrees of consanguinity on 10 January 1490 from Pope Innocent VIII as within 4 degrees of consanguinity.2 He died in 1505.1
     He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Buchan [S., 1469] circa 1498.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Auchterhouse [S., 1469] circa 1498.1

     Isabel Ogilvy was the daughter of Sir James Ogilvy of Airlie, 1st Lord Ogilvy of Airlie and Elene Douglas.1,2 She married Alexander Stewart, 2nd Earl of Buchan, son of James Stewart, 1st Earl of Buchan and Margaret Ogilvy, before 20 May 1491.3 She had dispensation to marry Alexander Stewart, 2nd Earl of Buchan from Pope Innocent VIII as within 4 degrees of consanguinity on 10 January 1490 from Pope Innocent VIII as within 4 degrees of consanguinity.2
     She was also known as Isabella Ogilvy.1,2 From 10 January 1490, her married name became Stewart.2 Her married name became Stewart. After her marriage, Isabel Ogilvy was styled as Countess of Buchan circa 1498.

Margaret Ruthven1

     Margaret Ruthven was the daughter of William Ruthven, 1st Lord Ruthven and Isabel Livingstone.2 She married, thirdly, James Stewart of Ryland.1 She married, firstly, Alexander Stewart, 2nd Earl of Buchan, son of James Stewart, 1st Earl of Buchan and Margaret Ogilvy, before 1499.1 She married, secondly, John Erskine of Dun, younger, son of John Erskine, 4th of Dun and Katherine Monypenny, on 21 June 1508.1 She married, fourthly, William Wood of Bonnyton before 1534.1 She died in 1548.1
     Her married name became Wood.1 After her marriage, Margaret Ruthven was styled as Countess of Buchan. Her married name became Stewart. From 21 June 1508, her married name became Erskine.1 Her marriage to William Wood of Bonnyton was annulled on 18 December 1534.1

William Ruthven, 1st Lord Ruthven

     William Ruthven, 1st Lord Ruthven was the son of Sir Patrick Ruthven of that Ilk and unknown daughter Cranstoun.1 He married, secondly, Christian Forbes, daughter of William Forbes, 3rd Lord Forbes and Lady Christian Gordon. He married, firstly, Isabel Livingstone before March 1482/83.2 He died after 12 July 1528.2
     He held the office of Hereditary Sheriff of Perthshire in 1471.2 He sat in Parliament among the feudal barons as Laird of Ruthven.2 He held the office of Conservator of a Truce with England in 1484.2 He was appointed Knight in January 1483/84.2 He fought in the Battle of Sauchieburn in 1488, where he sided with King James III against the rebel nobles.2 He was created 1st Lord Ruthven [Scotland] on 29 January 1487/88.2 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] in August 1513.2 After 1515 he was one of the four Guardians of the boy-King James V.2
