     Colonel Alfred Woodrow Stanley Wingate was born on 3 May 1861.1 He was the son of Reverend William Wingate and Margaret Wallace Torrance.1 He married Letitia Beryl Tucker, daughter of Maj.-Gen. L. H. E. Tucker, in 1910.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Warwickshire Regiment.1 He fought in the Boxer War between 1900 and 1901.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Indian Army.1 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1918, where he was mentioned in dispatches.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1916.1

     Letitia Beryl Tucker was the daughter of Maj.-Gen. L. H. E. Tucker.1 She married Colonel Alfred Woodrow Stanley Wingate, son of Reverend William Wingate and Margaret Wallace Torrance, in 1910.1 She died in 1944.1
     From 1910, her married name became Wingate.1
