     Margaret Wallace Torrance was the daughter of John Torrance.1 She married Reverend William Wingate, son of Andrew Wingate and Margaret Miller, on 12 September 1843.1 She died in 1909.1

     Sir Andrew Wingate was born in 1846.1 He was the son of Reverend William Wingate and Margaret Wallace Torrance.1 He married Henrietta Catherine Pemberton, daughter of Colonel Duncan Scott Pemberton, in 1887.1 He died on 1 January 1937.1
     He was with the Bombay Civil Service.1 He held the office of Member of the Legislative Council (M.L.C.) [Bombay] in 1896.1 He held the office of Member of the Legislative Council (M.L.C.) [Bombay] in 1898.1 He was Plague Commissioner and Secretary to the Governemnt in 1898.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Indian Empire (K.C.I.E.) in 1898.1 He was Commissioner, Central Division in 1900.1 He held the office of Member of the Legislative Council (M.L.C.) [Calcutta] between 1900 and 1902.1 He had two sons (one died young and the other killed at Festubut 1915) and three daughters.1
