     Henry Dane was born on 9 September 1893.¹ He was the son of Sir Louis William Dane and Edith Norman.² He married Victoria Alexandrina Katherine Wingate, daughter of General Sir Francis Reginald Wingate, 1st Bt. and Catherine Leslie Rundle, on 7 March 1922.¹ He died on 5 December 1942 at age 49 at Tokyo, Japan^G, as a prisoner.¹
     He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England^G.¹ He was registered as a Member, Institute of Electrical Engineering (M.I.E.E.)¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Indian Army.¹ He fought in the Second World War, where he became a POW.¹ He was awarded the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) posthumously.¹
