     Anna Maitland was the daughter of Robert Maitland and Margaret Lundie.¹ She married Hon. James Carnegie, son of David Carnegie, 2nd Earl of Northesk and Lady Jean Maule, on 10 February 1674.¹ She died on 3 September 1694.¹
     From 10 February 1674, her married name became Carnegie.¹

     Charles Carnegie was the son of Hon. James Carnegie and Anna Maitland.¹ He died in 1712, without issue.¹

     Violet Naesmyth is the daughter of Sir James Naesmyth of Posso, 1st Bt.¹ She married James Carnegie, son of Hon. James Carnegie.¹
     Her married name became Carnegie.¹

     Margaret Bennet is the daughter of William Bennet of Grubbet.¹ She married James Carnegie, son of Hon. James Carnegie.¹
     Her married name became Carnegie.¹

     Sir James Naesmyth of Posso, 1st Bt. was the son of John Naesmyth of Posso and Isabella Murray.² He married, firstly, Jane Stewart after 1685.² He married, secondly, Janet Murray, daughter of Sir William Murray, 1st Bt. and Lady Janet Johnstone.² He married, thirdly, Barbara Pringle, daughter of Andrew Pringle.² He died in July 1720.²
     He was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates in 1684.² He was created 1st Baronet Naesmyth, of Posso [Nova Scotia] on 31 July 1706.

     James Carnegie was the son of James Carnegie and Violet Naesmyth.¹ He died in 1777, unmarried.¹
     He lived at Finhaven, Scotland.¹

     Margaret Carnegie is the daughter of James Carnegie and Violet Naesmyth.¹ She married, secondly, Charles Lewis.¹ She married, firstly, John Foulis of Woodhall on 29 April 1731.¹
     Her married name became Lewis.¹ From 29 April 1731, her married name became Foulis.¹

     John Foulis of Woodhall married Margaret Carnegie, daughter of James Carnegie and Violet Naesmyth, on 29 April 1731.¹
