Vice-Admiral Sir Richard King, 2nd Bt. was born on 28 November 1774.2 He was the son of Sir Richard King, 1st Bt. and Susannah Margaretta Coker.3 He married, firstly, Sarah Anne Duckworth, daughter of Admiral Sir John Thomas Duckworth, 1st Bt. and Anne Wallis, on 29 November 1803 at Stoke Damerel, Devon, England.1,2,4 He married, secondly, Maria Susanna Cotton, daughter of Admiral Sir Charles Cotton, 5th Bt., on 16 May 1822.3 He died on 4 August 1834 at age 59.2
He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet King, of Bellevue, co. Kent [G.B., 1792] on 7 November 1806.3 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.)3 He gained the rank of Vice-Admiral of the Red.3
