Colonel Sir Henry Atwell Lake was born on 25 December 1808.2,3 He was also reported to have been born on 15 December 1808.3 He was the son of Sir James Samuel William Lake, 4th Bt. and Maria Turner.3,2 He married, firstly, Anne Curtois, daughter of Reverend Peregrine Curtois and Anne Lake, on 14 April 1841.2 He married, secondly, Anne Augusta Curtis, daughter of Sir William Curtis, 2nd Bt. and Mary Anne Lear, on 22 February 1848.1 He died on 17 August 1881 at age 72.2 He was buried at Hove Churchyard, Brighton, Sussex, EnglandG.2
