Frederick Charleton Shaw and Angela d'Acosta, on 19 May 1956.³ He died on 4 October 2010 at age 85.⁴
     He fought in the Second World War.² He retired from the military in 1964, with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, late of the 12th Royal Lancers.² He was in charge of Rhodesian Affairs for the Conservative Research Department between 1964 and 1967.² He was head of the Overseas Department, Conservative Research Department between 1967 and 1970.² He was political secretary to the British Foreign Secretary between 1970 and 1974.²
