     Debonnaire John Monson, 8th Baron Monson of Burton was born on 7 March 1830.¹ He was the son of William John Monson, 6th Baron Monson of Burton and Eliza Larken.¹ He married Augusta Louisa Caroline Ellis, daughter of Lt.-Col. Hon. Augustus Frederick Ellis and Mary Frances Thurlow Cunynghame, on 25 December 1861.² He died on 18 June 1900 at age 70.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 52nd Regiment.¹ He held the office of Comptroller of the Household to Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.¹ He held the office of Serjeant-at-Arms to HM Queen Victoria between 1873 and 1898.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.) in 1896.¹ He succeeded as the 8th Baron Monson of Burton, co. Lincoln [G.B., 1728] on 16 April 1898.¹ He succeeded as the 12th Baronet Monson, of Carlton [E., 1611] on 16 April 1898.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Kent.¹

     John Monson, 1st Baron Monson of Burton was born circa 1693.² He was the son of George Monson and Anne Wren.² He married Lady Margaret Watson, daughter of Lewis Watson, 1st Earl of Rockingham and Lady Catherine Sondes, on 8 April 1725.² He died in 1748.
     He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Lincoln between 1722 and 1728.² He was appointed Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) in 1725.² He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Monson, of Carlton [E., 1611] on 7 March 1727.² He was created 1st Baron Monson of Burton, co. Lincoln [Great Britain] on 28 May 1728.² He was Captain Gentleman of Pensioners in 1733.² He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1737.² He was First Commissioner of Trade between 1737 and 1748.²

     Lady Margaret Watson is the daughter of Lewis Watson, 1st Earl of Rockingham and Lady Catherine Sondes.² She married John Monson, 1st Baron Monson of Burton, son of George Monson and Anne Wren, on 8 April 1725.³
     From 8 April 1725, her married name became Monson. After her marriage, Lady Margaret Watson was styled as Baroness Monson of Burton on 28 May 1728.

     John Monson, 2nd Baron Monson of Burton was born on 23 July 1727.¹ He was the son of John Monson, 1st Baron Monson of Burton and Lady Margaret Watson.¹ He married Theodosia Maddison, daughter of John Maddison, on 23 June 1752.¹ He died in 1774.¹
     He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Monson, of Carlton [E., 1611] in 1748.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Monson of Burton, co. Lincoln [G.B., 1728] in 1748.¹

     Theodosia Maddison was the daughter of John Maddison.¹ She married John Monson, 2nd Baron Monson of Burton, son of John Monson, 1st Baron Monson of Burton and Lady Margaret Watson, on 23 June 1752.² She died on 20 February 1821.²
     After her marriage, Theodosia Maddison was styled as Baroness Monson of Burton on 23 June 1752. From 23 June 1752, her married name became Monson.

     John Maddison lived at Harpswell, Lincolnshire, England^G.²

     John Monson, 3rd Baron Monson of Burton was born on 25 May 1753.¹ He was the son of John Monson, 2nd Baron Monson of Burton and Theodosia Maddison.¹ He married Lady Elizabeth Capell, daughter of William Anne Capell, 4th Earl of Essex and Frances Hanbury-Williams, on 13 July 1777.² He died on 20 May 1806 at age 52.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Monson, of Carlton [E., 1611] in 1774.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Monson of Burton, co. Lincoln [G.B., 1728] in 1774.¹

     Lady Elizabeth Capell was born on 10 August 1755.³ She was the daughter of William Anne Capell, 4th Earl of Essex and Frances Hanbury-Williams.^1,3 She married John Monson, 3rd Baron Monson of Burton, son of John Monson, 2nd Baron Monson of Burton and Theodosia Maddison, on 13 July 1777.¹ She died on 23 February 1834 at age 78.¹
     From 13 July 1777, her married name became Monson. After her marriage, Lady Elizabeth Capell was styled as Baroness Monson of Burton on 13 July 1777.

     Lt.-Col. Frank Evelyn Seely was born on 5 July 1864.² He was the son of Sir Charles Seely, 1st Bt. and Emily Evans.¹ He married, firstly, Leila Eliza Russell, daughter of Reverend Henry Charles Russell and Hon. Leila Louisa Millicent Willoughby, on 8 August 1899.¹ He married, secondly, Gertrude Fanny Thornton, daughter of Henry Edward Thornton, on 2 October 1907.¹ He died on 16 April 1928 at age 63.¹
     He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Nottinghamshire.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Nottinghamshire.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the South Nottinghamshire Yeomanry.¹ He fought in the First World War, in Egypt.¹ He fought in the Gallipoli Campaign. He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire in 1922.¹

     Frederick John Monson, 5th Baron Monson of Burton was born on 3 February 1809.¹ He was the son of John George Monson, 4th Baron Monson of Burton and Lady Sarah Elizabeth Savile.¹ He married Theodosia Blacker, daughter of Major Latham Blacker and Catherine Madisson, on 21 June 1832.¹ He died on 7 October 1841 at age 32.¹
     He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Monson, of Carlton [E., 1611] on 14 November 1809.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Baron Monson of Burton, co. Lincoln [G.B., 1728] on 14 November 1809.¹
