Rt. Hon. Hedges Eyre Chatterton was born in 1819.1 He was the son of Abraham Chatterton and Jane Tisdall.2 He married, firstly, Mary Hallaran, daughter of Reverend William Hallaran, in 1845.1 He married, secondly, Florence Elizabeth Gore, daughter of Major Charles William Gore, on 14 August 1902.2 He died in 1910, without issue.1
He was admitted to King's Inns in 1843 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, in 1849 with a Doctor of Law (LL.D.)1 He held the office of Bencher of King's Inns.1 He was appointed King's Counsel (K.C.) in 1858.1 He held the office of Solicitor-General [Ireland] in 1866.1 He held the office of Attorney-General [Ireland] in 1867.1 He held the office of Vice-Chancellor of Ireland between 1867 and 1904.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dublin University between February 1867 and August 1867.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland]1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Cork.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Dublin.1 He lived at New Park, Blackrock, County Dublin, IrelandG.1
