     Margaret Joy Whitehead is the daughter of Gilbert Hinds Whitehead and Helena Emmeline Langford.2 She married, firstly, Lt.-Cdr. John Brett, son of Michael Brett, on 5 May 1928.1 She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. Robert Clement Giles, son of Reverend Clemenet Douglas Giles, on 24 July 1965.1
     From 5 May 1928, her married name became Brett. From 24 July 1965, her married name became Giles.1

     Lt.-Cdr. John Brett was born on 27 March 1905.2 He was the son of Michael Brett.3 He married Margaret Joy Whitehead, daughter of Gilbert Hinds Whitehead and Helena Emmeline Langford, on 5 May 1928.1 He died on 22 May 1941 at age 36, killed in action, in H.M.S. Gloucester off Crete.1
     He was commissioned on 15 September 1918, in the service of the Royal Navy.2 He gained the rank of Midshipman on 15 January 1923.2 He gained the rank of Sub-Lieutenant on 15 November 1925.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant on 15 November 1927.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 November 1935.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (D.S.C.)1 He fought in the Second World War.1

     Lt.-Col. Wilfred James Whitehead was born on 6 January 1873.1 He was the son of Sir James Whitehead, 1st Bt. and Mercy Matilda Hinds.2 He married Dona Margaret Chase, daughter of T. A. N. Chase, on 16 April 1907.1 He died on 22 December 1934 at age 61.1
     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches and was wounded.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 6th City of London Regiment.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1917.1

     Dona Margaret Chase was the daughter of T. A. N. Chase.2 She married Lt.-Col. Wilfred James Whitehead, son of Sir James Whitehead, 1st Bt. and Mercy Matilda Hinds, on 16 April 1907.1 She died on 4 July 1944.1
     From 16 April 1907, her married name became Whitehead.

     Major John Chase Whitehead was born on 23 May 1913.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Wilfred James Whitehead and Dona Margaret Chase.2 He married Lorna Davey Belk, daughter of Walter Rupert Belk, on 15 November 1941.1 He died on 22 June 1956 at age 43.1
     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1938 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Major in the Royal West Kent Regiment.1 He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1945.1
