     Sir James Whitehead, 1st Bt. was born on 2 March 1834.¹ He was the son of James Whitehead and Agnes Atkinson.² He married Mercy Matilda Hinds, daughter of Thomas Hinds, on 30 May 1860.¹ He died on 20 October 1917 at age 83.¹

     Mercy Matilda Hinds was the daughter of Thomas Hinds.² She married Sir James Whitehead, 1st Bt., son of James Whitehead and Agnes Atkinson, on 30 May 1860.¹ She died on 8 May 1911.¹
     From 30 May 1860, her married name became Whitehead.

     Sir George Hugh Whitehead, 2nd Bt. was born on 30 October 1861.¹ He was the son of Sir James Whitehead, 1st Bt. and Mercy Matilda Hinds.² He married Gertrude Grace Ashcroft, daughter of Sir William Ashcroft, on 5 September 1889.¹ He died on 21 May 1931 at age 69, without surviving male issue.¹
     He was educated at Clifton College, Clifton, Bristol, England^G.¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Kent.¹ He was the Governor at Appleby Grammar School, Appleby, Westmorland, England^G.¹ He held the office of Lieutenant of the City of London.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Whitehead, of Catford, Kent [U.K., 1889] on 20 October 1917.¹

     Gertrude Grace Ashcroft was the daughter of Sir William Ashcroft.² She married Sir George Hugh Whitehead, 2nd Bt., son of Sir James Whitehead, 1st Bt. and Mercy Matilda Hinds, on 5 September 1889.¹ She died on 4 April 1949.¹
     From 5 September 1889, her married name became Whitehead.

     James Hugh Edendale Whitehead was born on 8 July 1890.¹ He was the son of Sir George Hugh Whitehead, 2nd Bt. and Gertrude Grace Ashcroft.² He died on 13 March 1919 at age 28, from a disease contracted during the war.¹
     He was educated at Clifton College, Clifton, Bristol, England^G.¹ He was educated at Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal West Kent Regiment.¹

     Lieutenant George William Edendale Whitehead was born on 27 August 1895.¹ He was the son of Sir George Hugh Whitehead, 2nd Bt. and Gertrude Grace Ashcroft.² He died on 17 October 1918 at age 23, killed in action flying over the German lines.¹
     He was educated at Clifton College, Clifton, Bristol, England^G.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Field Artillery attached to the Royal Air Force.¹

     Pierre de Putron was the son of Reverend Godfrey Pierre de Putron.¹ He married Christobel Whitehead, daughter of Sir George Hugh Whitehead, 2nd Bt. and Gertrude Grace Ashcroft, on 10 February 1917.¹ He died in October 1950.¹
     He held the office of Jurat of the Royal Court of Guernsey.¹ He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)¹
