Lydia Yarde-Buller was born on 17 October 1917.³ She was the daughter of John Reginald Lopes Yarde-Buller, 3rd Baron Churston of Churston Ferrers and Lupton and Jessie Smither.^1,3 She married, firstly, Captain Ian Archibald de Hoghton Lyle, son of Sir Archibald Moir Park Lyle, 2nd Bt. and Dorothy de Hoghton, on 26 January 1938.¹ She married, secondly, John Ian Robert Russell, 13th Duke of Bedford, son of Hastings William Sackville Russell, 12th Duke of Bedford and Louisa Crommelin Roberta Jowitt Whitwell, on 13 February 1947.¹ She and John Ian Robert Russell, 13th Duke of Bedford were divorced in 1960.¹ She died on 25 July 2006 at age 88 at St. Peter's Hospital, Chertsey, Surrey, England^G, after a fall.⁴
