     Sir John Makgill, 10th Bt. was born on 6 February 1836.² He was the son of George Makgill and Harriet Strettell.² He married Margaret Isabella Haldane, daughter of Robert Haldane and Jane Makgill, on 18 April 1866.¹ He died on 14 November 1906 at age 70.²
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Engineers.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)² He succeeded as the 10th Baronet Makgill [N.S., 1627] on 21 September 1878, de jure.¹ He succeeded as the 10th Viscount of Oxfuird [S., 1651] on 21 September 1878, de jure.² He succeeded as the 10th Lord Makgill of Cousland [S., 1651] on 21 September 1878, de jure.³ He succeeded to Kemback and Fingask but sold them.²

     Christopher Earbery Spread was the son of John Spread and Anastatia Earbury.¹ He died at East Indies^G, unmarried.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Marines.¹

     Anna Spread was the daughter of John Spread and Anastatia Earbury.² She married Reverend Freeman Crofts, son of Wills Crofts and Eleanor Freeman, in August 1781.¹ She died in 1827.²
     From August 1781, her married name became Crofts.²

     Reverend Freeman Crofts was born on 11 August 1748.¹ He was the son of Wills Crofts and Eleanor Freeman.² He married Anna Spread, daughter of John Spread and Anastatia Earbury, in August 1781.² He died on 20 July 1817 at age 68.¹

     Barbara Spread is the daughter of John Spread and Anastatia Earbury.¹ She married Thomas Temple Fenton.¹
     Her married name became Fenton.¹

     Thomas Temple Fenton married Barbara Spread, daughter of John Spread and Anastatia Earbury.¹ He died on 17 May 1827 at Kinsale, County Cork, Ireland^G.¹
     He gained the rank of Brigade Major in the Yeomanry.¹

     Commander John Mathias Spread was born in 1766.¹ He was the son of John Spread and Anastatia Earbury.¹ He married Angela Hayes.¹ He died in 1847 at Kinsale, County Cork, Ireland^G.¹
     He gained the rank of Commander in the Royal Navy.¹

     George Abercromby Haldane was born on 27 May 1858.¹ He was the son of Robert Haldane and Mary Elizabeth Burdon-Sanderson.² He died on 10 March 1875 at age 16, unmarried.¹

     Angela Hayes married Commander John Mathias Spread, son of John Spread and Anastatia Earbury.¹
     Her married name became Spread.¹

     Louisa Kathleen Trotter was born circa 1869.¹ She was the daughter of Coutts Trotter.¹ She married John Scott Haldane, son of Robert Haldane and Mary Elizabeth Burdon-Sanderson, on 12 December 1891.¹ She died on 10 December 1961.¹
     From 12 December 1891, her married name became Haldane.
