     George Haldane, 8th of Gleneagles was the son of John Haldane, 7th of Gleneagles and Elizabeth Lundie.² A contract for the marriage of George Haldane, 8th of Gleneagles and Lady Jean Cuninghame was signed on 15 February 1572/73.¹ He died circa 18 October 1574, without issue.¹

     John Haldane, 9th of Gleneagles was the son of John Haldane, 7th of Gleneagles and Elizabeth Lundie.² He married, firstly, Isobel Home, daughter of Sir David Home, 5th of Wedderburn and Mariota Johnstone.¹ He married, secondly, Barbara Johnstone, daughter of James Johnstone, 5th of Elphinstone and Margaret Ruthven.² He died in 1591.²
     He was educated in 1571 at St. Mary's College, St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland^G.¹ He was a sympathiser with the perpetrators of the Raid of Ruthven.¹ In April 1584 he and his brother-in-law, Sir George Home of Wedderburn, were summoned to appear before the Council, under pain of rebellion, to answer certain charges of connection with the Raids.¹ In 1585 he joined the Protestant Lords at St. Ninians to overthrow the Earl of Arran.¹ He was Commissioner of the General Assembly for Dunblane in 1590.¹

     James Haldane was the son of John Haldane, 7th of Gleneagles and Elizabeth Lundie.² He died on 2 November 1585, killed in the Raid of Stirling.¹
     He was educated in 1571 at St. Mary's College, St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland^G.¹ He was educated at Padua University, Padua, Italy^G.¹ He was educated at Geneva University, Geneva, Switzerland^G.¹

     He matriculated at St. Salvator's College, St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland^G, in 1578.¹ On 13 March 1590/91 he bought lands of Briglands from Thomas Anderson, near Gleneagles.¹ On 28 March 1606 he received a feucharter of lands of Myreton of Menstrie.¹
