     Reverend Francis Godolphin Pelham, 5th Earl of Chichester was born on 18 October 1844.2 He was the son of Henry Thomas Pelham, 3rd Earl of Chichester and Lady Mary Brudenell.1 He married Hon. Alice Carr Glyn, daughter of George Carr Glyn, 1st Baron Wolverton and Marianne Grenfell, on 4 August 1870.3 He died on 21 April 1905 at age 60.1

Sir John Duncan Bligh was born on 11 October 1798.2 He was the son of John Bligh, 4th Earl of Darnley and Elizabeth Brownlow.1,2 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Mary Gisborne, daughter of Thomas Gisborne and Elizabeth Fyche Palmer, on 19 December 1835.2 He married, secondly, Anne Julia Brownlow, daughter of Reverend Francis Brownlow and Lady Catherine Brabazon, on 28 November 1865.2 He died on 8 May 1872 at age 73.2
     He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.)2 He held the office of Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to Hanover.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)1

     Ruth Buxton was the daughter of Francis William Buxton and Hon. Mary Emma Lawrence.2 She married Jocelyn Brudenell Pelham, 6th Earl of Chichester, son of Reverend Francis Godolphin Pelham, 5th Earl of Chichester and Hon. Alice Carr Glyn, on 17 May 1898.1 She died on 8 February 1965.3
     Her married name became Pelham. After her marriage, Ruth Buxton was styled as Countess of Chichester on 21 April 1905.

Mary Emma Lawrence, daughter of John Laird Mair Lawrence, 1st Baron Lawrence of the Punjaub and of Grately and Harriette Katherine Hamilton, on 27 February 1872.1 He died on 14 November 1911 at age 64.1

     John Buxton Pelham, 8th Earl of Chichester was born on 12 June 1912.1 He was the son of Jocelyn Brudenell Pelham, 6th Earl of Chichester and Ruth Buxton.1 He married Ursula von Pannwitz, daughter of Walter de Pannwitz, on 27 March 1940.1 He died on 21 February 1944 at age 31, killed in a road accident, while on active service.1
