Robert Vere Buxton was born in 1883.1 He was the son of Francis William Buxton and Hon. Mary Emma Lawrence.2 He married Irene Marguerite Pix, daughter of J. H. C. Pix, on 31 August 1916.1 He died on 1 October 1953, without issue.1
He graduated from Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was in the Sudan Civil Service between 1907 and 1911.1 He was awarded the Order of the Nile.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the West Kent Yeomanry.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.1 He was Temporary Lieutenant-Colonel of the 2nd Battalion, Imperial Camel Corps.1 He was awarded the Order of the Crown of Italy.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1919.1

Irene Marguerite Pix was the daughter of J. H. C. Pix.2 She married, firstly, Sir Richard William Levinge, 10th Bt., son of Sir William Henry Levinge, 9th Bt. and Emily Judith Sutton, on 15 February 1910.1 She married, secondly, Robert Vere Buxton, son of Francis William Buxton and Hon. Mary Emma Lawrence, on 31 August 1916.1 She died on 29 March 1975.2
