     Elizabeth Sydenham was the daughter of Sir George Sydenham.¹ She married, secondly, Sir William Courtenay, son of Sir William Courtenay and Lady Elizabeth Paulet.¹ She married by contract, firstly, Sir Francis Drake, son of Edmund Drake and Mary Elizabeth Mylwaye, on 25 August 1595.¹ She died on 9 June 1598.¹
     Her married name became Drake.¹ Her married name became Courtenay.¹

     Sir George Sydenham is the son of Sir John Sydenham and Ursula Brydges.²
     He lived at Combe Sydenham, England^G.¹

     Sir Francis Drake was born in 1545 at Tavistock, Devon, England.⁴ He was the son of Edmund Drake and Mary Elizabeth Mylwaye.⁵ He married, firstly, Mary Newman on 4 July 1569.² A contract for the marriage of Sir Francis Drake and Elizabeth Sydenham was signed on 25 August 1595.¹ He died on 28 January 1596, on board his own ship, Defiance.⁴
     In 1577 he circumnavigated the world.² He purchased Buckland Abbey after 1580.⁶ He fought in the Battle of the Spanish Armada in 1588.²

     Catherine Berkeley is the daughter of Francis Berkeley.¹ She married Sir George Oughtred Courtenay, 1st Bt., son of Sir William Courtenay and Lady Elizabeth Manners, before 1616.¹
     From before 1616, her married name became Courtenay.¹

     Francis Berkeley lived at Askeaton, County Limerick, Ireland^G.¹

     Sir William Courtenay, 2nd Bt. was born circa 1616.¹ He was the son of Sir George Oughtred Courtenay, 1st Bt. and Catherine Berkeley.¹ He died circa 1651, without surviving male issue.¹
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Courtenay, of Newcastle, co. Limerick [I., 1622] before 1651.¹ On his death, his baronetcy became extinct or dormant.¹

     Francis Courtenay was born circa 1617.¹ He was the son of Sir George Oughtred Courtenay, 1st Bt. and Catherine Berkeley.¹
     He may have had issue.¹

     Morris Courtenay was the son of Sir George Oughtred Courtenay, 1st Bt. and Catherine Berkeley.¹ He died, without issue.¹

     Elizabeth Courtenay is the daughter of Sir William Courtenay and Lady Elizabeth Manners.¹ She married Sir William Wrey, 1st Bt., son of John Wrey and Blanche Killigrew, in 1600.²
     From 1600, her married name became Wrey.¹

     Sir William Wrey, 1st Bt. is the son of John Wrey and Blanche Killigrew.² He married Elizabeth Courtenay, daughter of Sir William Courtenay and Lady Elizabeth Manners, in 1600.² He died in June 1636.²
     He held the office of High Sheriff of Cornwall in 1612.² He was created 1st Baronet Wrey, of Trebitch, Cornwall [England] on 20 June 1628.²
