Robert Shordiche also went by the nick-name of Robert 'the devil'.1 He gained the rank of officer in the East India Regiment.1 He gained the rank of officer in the 10th Light Dragoons.1 In 1813 he landed up in debtors jail, but was released under the Releif of Insolvent Debtors Act on condition of rejoining his regiemnt.1 He fought in the Battle of Waterloo on 18 June 1815.1
