     Captain Hon. Roderick Mackenzie was born after 1703.¹ He was the son of John Mackenzie, 2nd Earl of Cromarty and Mary Murray.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.² He fought in the Siege of Gibraltar in 1726.² He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Dragoons.² He gained the rank of Captain of Foot in 1740.² He fought in the Flanders Campaign in 1745.²

     Kenneth Mackenzie was the son of Captain Hon. Roderick Mackenzie.¹ He died on 4 November 1796 at Orchard Street, London, England^G, without male issue.¹ He was buried on 10 November 1796 at Greenwich, London, England^G.¹
     In 1789 he suceeded to the Cromarty estates on the death of his cousin, Lord MacLeod.²

     Lilias Janet Garvie Macleod is the daughter of Professor James Walter Macleod.¹ She married, firstly, Lt.-Col. D. S. Edward Walter Blunt-Mackenzie and Sibell Lilian Sutherland-Leveson-Gower, Countess of Cromartie, on 1 December 1962.¹
     Her married name became Richard.¹ She graduated from Leeds University, Leeds, Yorkshire, West Riding, England^G, with a Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.)² She graduated from Leeds University, Leeds, Yorkshire, West Riding, England^G, in 1942 with a Bachelor of Surgery (Ch.B.)² From 1 December 1962, her married name became Mackenzie.¹ After her marriage, Lilias Janet Garvie Macleod was styled as Countess of Cromartie on 1 December 1962. She lived in 2003 at Castle Leod, Strathpeffer, Ross-shire, Scotland^G.²

     Professor James Walter Macleod was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.)² He lived at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.² He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)² He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.)²

     Lt.-Col. D. S. Richard married Lilias Janet Garvie Macleod, daughter of Professor James Walter Macleod.¹

     John Mackenzie, 9th of Kintail was born possibly illegitimately.¹ He was the son of Kenneth Mackenzie, 8th of Kintail and Agnes Fraser.¹ He married Elizabeth Grant, daughter of John Grant, 2nd of Freuchie and Margaret Ogilvy.² He died in 1561.¹
     He successfully resisted a challenge to his legitimacy by his uncle Hector.¹ In 1491 allegedly legitmated by Pope Alexander VI, but no proof survives.¹ In 1508 he had a Crown Charter creating the territorial Barony of Eileandonnan.¹

     Kenneth Mackenzie, 8th of Kintail was the son of Alexander 'Ionriac' Mackenzie, 7th of Kintail and Anna Margaret Macdougall.¹ He and Margaret Macdonald were divorced allegedly.¹ He married, secondly, Agnes Fraser, daughter of Hugh Fraser, 1st Lord (Fraser of) Lovat and Violet Lyon.¹ He married, firstly, Margaret Macdonald, daughter of John Macdonald, 11th Earl of Ross.¹ He died on 7 February 1491/92.¹
     Kenneth Mackenzie, 8th of Kintail also went by the nick-name of a'bhlair (or in English, 'of the battle.¹')

     Alexander 'Ionriac' Mackenzie, 7th of Kintail was the son of Murdoch Mackenzie, 6th of Kintail and Finguala Macleod.² He married, firstly, Anna Margaret Macdougall, daughter of Sir John Macdougall, 11th of Dunollie and of Lorn and Gyllis Campbell.³ He married, secondly, Margaret MacCoull, daughter of unknown MacCoull of Morit.¹ He married Margaret Macdonald, daughter of Ruari Macdonald, 3rd of Clanranald and Moidart and Margaret Macdonald.³ He died in 1488.¹
     Alexander 'Ionriac' Mackenzie, 7th of Kintail also went by the nick-name of 'Ionriac' (or in English, 'the Upright.¹') In 1427 he was imprisoned by King James I.¹
