Sir John Stuart of Ardmaleish was the son of John Stewart of Ardmaleish and Mary Campbell.1 He married Elizabeth Hepburn, daughter of Robert Hepburn of Fuird.1 He died on 31 March 1619.1
He held the office of Sheriff of Bute.1 He acquired Fuird and several other lands in Haddington through his wife.1 He was also known as Sir John Stewart.2

Sir Alexander Erskine of Gogar and Margaret Home.1 He married, thirdly, Isabella Boyd, daughter of unknown Boyd.1 He married by contract, firstly, Catherine Scrimgeour, daughter of Sir James Scrimgeour of Glassarie, on 23 April 1590.1 He died in 1641.1
