Elizabeth Dryden is the daughter of Sir Erasmus Dryden, 1st Bt. and Frances Wilkes.1 She married Sir Richard Philipps, 2nd Bt., son of Sir John Philipps, 1st Bt. and Anne Perrot, before 1613.2
From before 1613, her married name became Philipps.1

Sir Erasmus Dryden, 1st Bt. was born on 29 December 1553.2 He was also reported to have been born on 20 December 1553.3 He was the son of John Dryden and Elizabeth Cope.2 He married Frances Wilkes, daughter of William Wilkes, before 1580.2 He died on 22 May 1632 at age 78.2
He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Banbury.3 He held the office of High Sheriff of Northamptonshire in 1598.3 He held the office of High Sheriff of Northamptonshire in 1598.3 He was created 1st Baronet Dryden, of Canons Ashby, co. Sir Thomas Hamilton, Lord Priestfield was the son of Thomas Hamilton of Priestfield and Elizabeth Leslie.2 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Murray, daughter of Sir Andrew Murray of Blackbarony and Grizel Bethune.2 He married by contract, firstly, Elizabeth Heriot, daughter of James Heriot, 6th of Trabroun and Janet Cockburn, on 25 June 1558.2
In 1597 he had charter of Balbyn, Drumcairn and Priestfield.2 He was styled as Lord Priestfield in 1607.2 He held the office of Lord of Session [Scotland] from 1607 to 1608.1
