     John Henry Gavan married Caroline Mary FitzMaurice, daughter of John FitzMaurice and Henrietta Frances Cary, on 5 September 1844 at Crumlin Church, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G.²
     He was with the Ceylon Police.¹ He was with the Royal Irish Constabulary.¹

She was the daughter of John Henry Gavan and Caroline Mary FitzMaurice.^2,1 She married Henry Shackleton, son of Ebenezer Shackleton and Eleanor Bell, on 28 February 1872 at Carlow, County Carlow, Ireland^G.¹ She died on 14 September 1926 at age 80.¹
     From 28 February 1872, her married name became Shackleton.²

     Thomas Henry Fitzmaurice was born on 12 October 1884.¹ He was the son of Gerald Fitzmaurice and Lucilla Amelia Smith.¹ He married Ellen Pound, daughter of George Pound and Sarah Ann Hanchard, on 25 November 1919 at Registrar's Office, Wellington, New Zealand^G.¹ He died on 26 September 1935 at age 50.¹ He was buried on 29 September 1935 at Taita Cemetery, Lower Hutt, New Zealand^G.¹

     Gilbert Edward Raymond Fitzmaurice was born on 13 November 1886.¹ He was the son of Gerald Fitzmaurice and Lucilla Amelia Smith.¹ He died on 28 February 1912 at age 25 at Taumaranui, New Zealand^G, crushed between two timber trucks.¹ He was buried on 3 March 1912 at St. James Church, Lower Hutt, New Zealand^G.¹

     Castillian Amelia Fitzmaurice was born on 30 April 1889.¹ She was the daughter of Gerald Fitzmaurice and Lucilla Amelia Smith.¹ She married Lionel Wallis Gilbert, son of Harry de Vallinger Gilbert and Ada Catherine Wallis, on 25 August 1915 at St. Peter's Church, Wellington, New Zealand^G.¹ She died on 9 November 1977 at age 88 at Dunedin, New Zealand^G.¹ She was buried at Andersons Bay Cemetery, Dunedin, New Zealand^G.¹
     From 25 August 1915, her married name became Gilbert.¹

     Lionel Wallis Gilbert was born circa 1889.¹ He was the son of Harry de Vallinger Gilbert and Ada Catherine Wallis.¹ He married Castillian Amelia Fitzmaurice, daughter of Gerald Fitzmaurice and Lucilla Amelia Smith, on 25 August 1915 at St. Peter's Church, Wellington, New Zealand^G.¹ He died on 24 August 1968.¹ He was buried at Andersons Bay Soldier's Cemetery, Dunedin, New Zealand^G.¹
