     Joan Margaret Backhouse was the daughter of Admiral Sir Roger Roland Charles Backhouse and Dora Louise Findlay.1 She married Lieutenant Archibald Norman Macpherson, son of Lt.-Col. Archibald Duncan Macpherson, on 8 January 1944.1 She died on 2 June 2008.2
     From 8 January 1944, her married name became Macpherson.1

     Lieutenant Archibald Norman Macpherson was the son of Lt.-Col. Archibald Duncan Macpherson.1 He married Joan Margaret Backhouse, daughter of Admiral Sir Roger Roland Charles Backhouse and Dora Louise Findlay, on 8 January 1944.1 He died on 17 April 2010.2
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Navy.1

     Lt.-Col. Miles Roland Charles Backhouse was born on 24 November 1878.2 He was the son of Sir Jonathan Edmund Backhouse, 1st Bt. and Florence Salusbury-Trelawny.2 He married Olive Buxton, daughter of Lt.-Col. Geoffrey Fowell Buxton and Mary Harbord, on 14 September 1904.2 He died on 15 May 1962 at age 83.2

     Olive Buxton was born on 3 May 1886.2 She was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Geoffrey Fowell Buxton and Mary Harbord.1,2 She married Lt.-Col. Miles Roland Charles Backhouse, son of Sir Jonathan Edmund Backhouse, 1st Bt. and Florence Salusbury-Trelawny, on 14 September 1904.1 She died on 16 September 1954 at age 68.1
     From 14 September 1904, her married name became Backhouse.1

     Lt.-Col. Geoffrey Fowell Buxton was born on 21 June 1852.1 He was the son of Thomas Fowell Buxton and Rachel Jane Gurney.2 He married Mary Harbord, daughter of Rev. Hon. John Harbord and Caroline Penelope Hamond, on 3 September 1878.2 He died on 11 April 1929 at age 76.1
