Horatio Noble Pym was born on 2 July 1844.1 He was the son of Reverend William Wollaston Pym and Edith Elizabeth Noble.1 He married, firstly, Sarah Juliet Backhouse, daughter of Edmund Backhouse and Juliet Mary Fox, on 12 September 1876.1 He married, secondly, Jane Hannah Backhouse Fox, daughter of Robert Barclay Fox and Jane Gurney Backhouse, on 2 May 1881.1 He died on 5 May 1896 at age 51.1

Admiral Oliver Backhouse was born on 4 June 1876.1 He was the son of Sir Jonathan Edmund Backhouse, 1st Bt. and Florence Salusbury-Trelawny.1 He married Margaret Susan Dyson Perrins, daughter of Charles William Dyson Perrins and Catherine Christina Gregory, on 15 December 1920.1 He died on 25 March 1943 at age 66, without issue.1
He fought in the Somaliland Campaign in 1904, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He was Commander of the 2nd Naval Brigade, Antwerp and Dardanelles between 1914 and 1915 when he was mentioned in despatches twice more.1 He was awarded the Chevalier, Ordre national de la Légion d'honneur.1 He was awarded the Croix de Guerre.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1915.1 He was Commander of the H.M.S. Orion in 1916 during the Battle of Jutland, for which he was again mentioned in despatches.1 He was awarded the Silver Medal of Italy.1 He was Commander of the H.M.S. Royal Sovereign in 1920 during the occupation of Constantinople.1 He was Superintendant of the Sheerness Dockyard between 1923 and 1925.1 He was Admiral Superintendant of the Devonport Dockyard between 1927 and 1931.1
