     Lord Claud Hamilton was born on 27 July 1813.1 He was the son of James Hamilton, Viscount Hamilton and Harriet Douglas.1 He married Lady Elizabeth Emma Proby, daughter of Admiral Granville Leveson Proby, 3rd Earl of Carysfort and Isabella Howard, on 7 August 1844.1 He died on 3 June 1884 at age 70.1
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.2 He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Tyrone between 1835 and 1837.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Tyrone between 1839 and 1874.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) on 27 February 1852.1,2 He held the office of Vice-Chamberlain of the Household between 1866 and 1868.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel on 19 July 1867 in the Donegal Militia.2

     Lady Elizabeth Emma Proby was born in 1821.2 She was the daughter of Admiral Granville Leveson Proby, 3rd Earl of Carysfort and Isabella Howard.1,3 She married Lord Claud Hamilton, son of James Hamilton, Viscount Hamilton and Harriet Douglas, on 7 August 1844.1 She died on 24 June 1900.1
     From 7 August 1844, her married name became Hamilton.

     Admiral Granville Leveson Proby, 3rd Earl of Carysfort was born on 12 November 1782 at Stamford, Lincolnshire, EnglandG. He was the son of John Joshua Proby, 1st Earl of Carysfort and Elizabeth Osborne.2 He married Isabella Howard, daughter of Hon. Hugh Howard and Catherine Bligh, on 5 April 1818 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, EnglandG.2 He died on 3 November 1868 at age 85 at Elton Hall, Huntingdonshire, EnglandG.2 His will was proven (by probate) on 8 January 1869, at under £60,000 in England and £140,000 in Ireland.2
     He was educated between 1792 and 1799 at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, EnglandG.2 He was commissioned in 1799 with the rank of officer, in the service of the Royal Navy.2 He fought in the Battle of the Nile.2 He fought in the Battle of Trafalgar.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for County Wicklow between 1816 and 1829.2 He held the office of Sheriff of County Wicklow in 1831.2 He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral in 1841.2 He gained the rank of Vice-Admiral in 1851.2 He succeeded as the 4th Baron Carysfort, of Carysfort, co. Wicklow [I., 1752] on 11 June 1855.2 He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Carysfort [I., 1789] on 11 June 1855.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Carysfort, of the Hundred of Norman Cross, co.      From 5 April 1818, her married name became Proby. She was Member of Parliament (M.P.) (see edn WICKLOW in 1970.3
