She gained the title of Herzogin von Mecklenburg-Schwerin. After her marriage, Marie Alexandrine Elisabeth Eleonore Herzogin von Mecklenburg-Schwerin was styled as Grand Duchess Marie Pavlovna of Russia on 28 August 1874.1 From 28 August 1874, her married name became Mariya Pavlovna Romanov.2
