     Frederick William Fairbairn was born on 21 July 1865 at Richmond, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia^G.^2,3 He was the son of George Fairbairn and Virginia Armytage.² He married Rhoda Jane McLeod, daughter of Angus McLeod, on 30 September 1891.² He died in 1925.³ An inquest post mortem was held for his in 1918 Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)³

     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Flight Lieutenant in the Royal Air Force.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He lived at Timur Beg, Upper Lambourn, Newbury, Berkshire, England^G.¹

     Mary Jones is the daughter of Elystan Charles Jones.¹ She married, firstly, Edward Hunter Power before 1945.¹ She married, secondly, David Fox Godolphin Hastings, son of Hon. Osmond William Toome Westenra Hastings and Mary Caroline Campbell Tarratt, on 20 December 1945.¹
     From before 1945, her married name became Power.¹ Her married name became Hastings.
