Christopher John Leyland was born on 19 September 1849.1 He was the son of John Naylor and Georgiana Edwards.1 He married, firstly, Everilda Elizabeth Creyke, daughter of Ralph Creyke and Louisa Frances Croft.2 He married, secondly, Helen Dora Cayley, daughter of Digby Cayley and Charlotte Philadelphia Bower, on 1 March 1892.3 He died on 21 October 1926 at age 77.1
