     Sir John Ritchie Findlay of Aberlour, 1st Bt. was born on 13 January 1866. He was the son of John Ritchie Findlay and Susan Leslie.2 He married Harriet Jane Backhouse, daughter of Sir Jonathan Edmund Backhouse, 1st Bt. and Florence Salusbury-Trelawny, on 9 July 1901.3 He died on 13 April 1930 at age 64.
     He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.)3 He was created 1st Baronet Findlay, of Aberlour in the County of Banff [U.K.] in 1925.

     Harriet Jane Backhouse was born on 12 March 1880.1 She was the daughter of Sir Jonathan Edmund Backhouse, 1st Bt. and Florence Salusbury-Trelawny.1 She married Sir John Ritchie Findlay of Aberlour, 1st Bt., son of John Ritchie Findlay and Susan Leslie, on 9 July 1901.1 She died on 24 July 1954 at age 74.1
     Her married name became Findlay. She was appointed Dame Commander, Order of the British Empire (D.B.E.) in 1929.1 She gained the title of Dame Findlay in 1929.1

     Sir Jonathan Edmund Backhouse, 1st Bt. was born on 15 November 1849.1 He was the son of Edmund Backhouse and Juliet Mary Fox.1 He married Florence Salusbury-Trelawny, daughter of Sir John Salusbury-Trelawny, 9th Bt. and Harriet Jane Tremayne, on 29 November 1871.1 He died on 27 July 1918 at age 68.1
     He was created 1st Baronet Backhouse, of Uplands [U.K.] on 6 March 1901.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the West Riding, Yorkshire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Durham.1 He lived at The Rookery, Middleton Tyas, Yorkshire, EnglandG.1

     Sir John Edmund Ritchie Findlay, 2nd Bt. usually went by his middle name of Edmund.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Findlay, of Aberlour in the County of Banff [U.K., 1925] on 13 April 1930.

     Sir John Salusbury-Trelawny, 9th Bt. was born on 2 June 1816 at Calstock, Cornwall, England.1,2 He was the son of Sir William Lewis Salusbury-Trelawny, 8th Bt. and Patience Christian Carpenter.1 He was baptised on 3 June 1816 at Calstock, Cornwall, EnglandG.3 He married, firstly, Harriet Jane Tremayne, daughter of John Hearle Tremayne and Caroline Matilda Lemon, on 25 January 1842.1 He married, secondly, Harriet Jacqueline Buller, daughter of Sir Anthony Buller and Isabella Jane Lemon, on 19 May 1881.1 He died on 4 August 1885 at age 69 at London, England.2

     John Hearle Tremayne was born on 17 March 1780.2 He was baptised on 1 May 1780 at St. Ewe, Cornwall, England.3 He is the son of Henry Hawkins Tremayne and Harriet Searle.3 He married Caroline Matilda Lemon, daughter of Sir William Lemon, 1st Bt. and Jane Buller, on 11 January 1813.1,3 He died on 27 August 1851 at age 71.2

     Harriet Jacqueline Buller was baptised on 22 December 1820 at Calcutta, India.1 She was the daughter of Sir Anthony Buller and Isabella Jane Lemon.1 She married, firstly, Colonel Edward George Walpole Keppel, son of Frederick Keppel and Louisa Clive, in 1859 at St. George Hanover Square, London, England.1 She married, secondly, Sir John Salusbury-Trelawny, 9th Bt., son of Sir William Lewis Salusbury-Trelawny, 8th Bt. and Patience Christian Carpenter, on 19 May 1881.2 She died on 13 November 1904 at age 83.2
     From 1859, her married name became Keppel.1 Her married name became Salusbury-Trelawny.
