     Samuel Strachey was the son of John Strachey and Christiana Staveley.¹ He died in 1762 at Minorca, Spain, killed in action.¹

     Anne Wombwell was the daughter of George Wombwell and Anne Nottingham.^1,2 She married Venerable John Strachey, son of Henry Strachey and Helen Clerk, on 23 May 1770.¹ She died on 12 February 1824.¹
     From 23 May 1770, her married name became Strachey.¹

     John Wombwell is the son of Roger Wombwell and Mary Chadwick.¹ He married, secondly, Frances Baker, daughter of Richard Baker.¹ He married, firstly, Elizabeth Grigsby, daughter of Joshua Grigsby, on 24 October 1783.¹
     He was a merchant at Alicante, Spain.¹

     Joanna Catherine Cloeté was the daughter of Rudolph Cloeté.¹ She married Lt.-Col. Sir Henry Strachey, son of Edward Strachey and Julia Woobine Kirkpatrick, on 6 September 1859.¹ She died on 9 May 1917.¹
     From 6 September 1859, her married name became Strachey.¹

     Rudolph Cloeté lived at Newlands, Cape Province, South Africa.¹

     Grace Alice Norman was born circa 25 March 1873 at Simla, Bengal, India.² She was the daughter of Field Marshal Sir Henry Wylie Norman and Alice Claudine Sandys.^1,2 She married Colonel Richard John Strachey, son of Sir Richard Strachey and Jane Maria Grant, on 30 December 1896.¹ She died on 10 June 1954.¹
     From 30 December 1896, her married name became Strachey.¹
