     Arthur William Wakefield was born on 13 April 1876.¹ He was the son of William Wakefield and Marianne Wavell.² He married Marjorie Younger, daughter of James D. Younger, on 1 June 1910.¹ He died on 23 February 1949 at age 72.¹
     He was educated at Sedbergh School, Sedbergh, Cumbria, England.¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He graduated from London Hospital, London, England, with a Bachelor of Medicine (B.Ch.)¹ He graduated from London Hospital, London, England, with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)¹ He gained the rank of Trooper in the 70th County, Imperial Yeomanry.¹ He fought in the Boer War.¹ He was Medical Officer to Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen in Labrador in 1908.¹ He was registered as a Member, Royal College of Surgeons (M.R.C.S.)¹ He was registered as a Licentiate, Royal College of Physicians, London (L.R.C.P.)¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Newfoundland Regiment.¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in dispatches.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Army Medical Corps.¹ He was member of Mt. Everest Expedition in 1922.¹

     James D. Younger lived at Montreal, Quebec, Canada.¹
