     Maria Antoinetta Pegus was born on 30 April 1822.² She was the daughter of Reverend Peter William Pegus and Charlotte Susannah Elizabeth Layard.^1,2 She married Charles Gordon, 10th Marquess of Huntly, son of George Gordon, 9th Marquess of Huntly and Catherine Cope, on 9 April 1844.³ She died on 10 August 1893 at age 71.³
     Her married name became Gordon. After her marriage, Maria Antoinetta Pegus was styled as Marchioness of Huntly on 17 June 1853.

     Major Lord Roderic Armyne Gordon was born on 27 January 1914.² He was the son of Lt.-Col. Granville Cecil Douglas Gordon and Violet Ida Streatfeild.² He married, firstly, Anne Vesey, daughter of Lt.-Col. Hon. Sir Osbert Eustace Vesey and Dorothy Strachen, on 7 January 1937.¹ He and Anne Vesey were divorced in 1949.¹ He married, secondly, Joana Alexandra Bujoiu, daughter of Ion Bujoiu, on 26 August 1949.² He died on 12 October 1996 at age 82.³ He was buried at Union Cemetery, Calgary, Alberta, Canada.³
     He was educated at Stowe School, Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, England^G.² On 20 November 1937 he was granted the rank of a marquess's younger son.² He fought in the Second World War.² He gained the rank of Major in the 72nd (Hampshire) AA Brigade, Royal Artillery (Territorial Army.)² He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)¹ He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1943.¹

     Charles Gordon, 11th Marquess of Huntly was born on 5 March 1847.¹ He was the son of Charles Gordon, 10th Marquess of Huntly and Maria Antoinetta Pegus.^1,3 He married, firstly, Amy Brooks, daughter of Sir William Cunliffe Brooks, 1st and last Bt. and Jane Elizabeth Orrell, on 14 July 1869.³ He married, secondly, Charlotte Jane Isabelle Fallon, daughter of John H. Fallon, on 26 June 1922.¹ He died on 20 February 1937 at age 89, without issue.¹

     Amy Brooks was the daughter of Sir William Cunliffe Brooks, 1st and last Bt. and Jane Elizabeth Orrell.² She married Charles Gordon, 11th Marquess of Huntly, son of Charles Gordon, 10th Marquess of Huntly and Maria Antoinetta Pegus, on 14 July 1869.¹ She died on 13 May 1920.¹
     After her marriage, Amy Brooks was styled as Marchioness of Huntly on 14 July 1869. From 14 July 1869, her married name became Gordon.

     From 25 July 1842, her married name became Brooks.
