     Hon. Marie Spencer Lewis was the daughter of William Thomas Lewis, 1st Baron Merthyr and Anne Rees.2 She married Lt.-Col. William Forrest on 2 June 1898.1 She died on 29 August 1951.1

     Lt.-Col. William Forrest married Hon. Marie Spencer Lewis, daughter of William Thomas Lewis, 1st Baron Merthyr and Anne Rees, on 2 June 1898.1 He died on 1 November 1921.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 3rd Battalion, Welch Regiment.1 He lived at Greenwood, St. Fagan's, Cardiff, Glamorgan, Wales.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1 From 2 June 1898, his married name became Lewis.

     Elizabeth Anna Couchman was the daughter of Maj.-Gen. Richard Short Couchman.2 She married Herbert Clark Lewis, 2nd Baron Merthyr, son of William Thomas Lewis, 1st Baron Merthyr and Anne Rees, on 5 October 1899.1 She died on 10 May 1925.1
     From 5 October 1899, her married name became Lewis. After her marriage, Elizabeth Anna Couchman was styled as Baroness Merthyr on 27 August 1914.

William Brereton Couchman Lewis, 3rd Baron Merthyr1

     William Brereton Couchman Lewis, 3rd Baron Merthyr was born on 7 January 1901.1 He was the son of Herbert Clark Lewis, 2nd Baron Merthyr and Elizabeth Anna Couchman.2 He married Violet Meyrick, daughter of Brig.-Gen. Sir Frederick Charlton Meyrick, 2nd Bt. and Mary Emma Baker-Cresswell, on 10 November 1932.1 He died on 5 April 1977 at age 76.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He graduated from Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1923 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Pembrokeshire in 1925.1 He graduated from Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1926 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1927 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He held the office of chairman of the Pembrokeshire Quarter Sessions.1 He held the office of Member of the Pembrokeshire County Council between 1928 and 1939.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Pembrokeshire between 1932 and 1959.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Lewis [U.K., 1896] on 20 March 1932.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Merthyr, of Senghenydd, co. Glamorgan [U.K., 1911] on 20 March 1932.2 He was member of the Royal Commission on Local Government on Tyneside in 1936.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he became a POW.1 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)1 He gained the rank of Major in the Pembroke Heavy Regiment, Royal Artillery (Territorial Army.)1 He was member of the Royal Commission on JPs in 1948.1 He was National Parks Commissioner between 1950 and 1953.1 He held the office of Vice-Lord-Lieutenant of Pembrokeshire in 1959.1 He was appointed Commander, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (C.St.J.)1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1964.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.) in 1969.1

     Judith Cripps was born in 1814 at Gloucestershire, England.1 She was the daughter of Reverend Henry Cripps and Judith Lawrence.1 She married Robert Maurice Bonnor-Maurice, son of John Bonnor and Jane Maurice, on 9 August 1834 at All Saints, Preston, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, England.1 She died in 1892 at London, England.2
     From 9 August 1834, her married name became Bonnor-Maurice.1
