Cecil Egbert Jackson Castle was born on 25 April 1870.2 He was the son of Captain Charles Thomas Castle and Annie Maria (?)3,2 He was baptised on 18 June 1870 at Banda, Bengal, India.2 He married Josephine Mary Kirkpatrick, daughter of Sir James Kirkpatrick of Closeburn, 8th Bt. and Mary Steward Fearnley, on 30 April 1901.1 He died on 5 June 1922 at age 52.1
