Elizabeth Patoun was the daughter of John Patoun of Inveresk and Jean Douglas.2,1 She married Sir Archibald Hope of Craighall, 9th Bt., son of Archibald Hope and Catherine Tod, in 1779.1 She died in 1818.1

Sir John Hope of Craighall, 11th Bt. was born on 13 April 1781.2 He was the son of Sir Archibald Hope of Craighall, 9th Bt. and Elizabeth Patoun.2 He married Anne Wedderburn, daughter of John Wedderburn and Alice Dundas, on 17 June 1805.2 He died on 5 June 1853 at age 72.2
He succeeded as the 11th Baronet Hope, of Craighall [N.S., 1628] in 1801.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)2

General Archibald Hugh Hope was born on 17 January 1820.1 He was the son of Hugh Hope and Isabella Gray Mackay.2 He married Caroline Elizabeth Jones, daughter of Lt.-Gen. Sir Richard Jones, on 8 January 1842.1 He died on 8 March 1890 at age 70.1

Maj.-Gen. Hugh Richard Hope was born on 24 July 1844.1 He was the son of General Archibald Hugh Hope and Caroline Elizabeth Jones.2 He married Frances Georgina Pycroft, daughter of Sir Thomas Pycroft, on 25 July 1865.1 He died on 11 May 1900 at age 55, without issue.1
He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1 He gained the rank of Major-General in the Indian Army.1
