     Sir John Vere Hobart, 4th Bt. was born on 9 April 1945.1 He is the son of Lt.-Cdr. Sir Robert Hampden Hobart, 3rd Bt. and Sylvia Laughton Argo.2 He married Kate Iddles, daughter of George Henry Iddles, in 1980.1
     He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Hobart, of Langdown, Southampton [U.K., 1914] in 1988.1 He lived in 2003 at 63 Queens Road, Cowes, Isle of Wight, EnglandG.1

     Lt.-Col. Sir Claud Vere Cavendish Hobart, 2nd Bt. was born on 12 March 1870.1 He was the son of Sir Robert Henry Hobart, 1st Bt. and Hon. Julia Trollope.2 He married, firstly, Violet Verve Wylie, daughter of John Wylie, on 10 December 1900.1 He married, secondly, Lois Anne Popham, daughter of Reverend Albert Popham, on 18 April 1936.1 He died on 29 November 1949 at age 79.1
     Lt.-Col. Sir Claud Vere Cavendish Hobart, 2nd Bt. usually went by his middle name of Vere. He fought in the Uganda Campaign between 1897 and 1899, and was mentioned in despatches.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1900.1 He was DAAG of the South African Field Force between 1899 and 1900.1 He gained the rank of Major in the Grenadier Guards.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1 He was Gold Staff Officer for the Coronation in 1902.1 He was Gold Staff Officer for the Coronation in 1911.1 He fought in the First World War, and was mentioned in despatches three times.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 8th Battalion, Hampshire Regiment.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hampshire.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Hampshire.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of the Isle of Wight.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for London.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Hobart, of Langdown, Southampton [U.K., 1914] on 4 August 1949.1

     Violet Verve Wylie was the daughter of John Wylie.1 She married Lt.-Col. Sir Claud Vere Cavendish Hobart, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Robert Henry Hobart, 1st Bt. and Hon. Julia Trollope, on 10 December 1900.1 She died on 28 January 1935.1
     From 10 December 1900, her married name became Hobart. She was awarded the Medaille de la Reine Elisabeth.1 She was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.)1
