Sir Edward Green, 1st Bt. was born on 4 March 1831.1 He was the son of Edward Green and Mary Anne Ironside.2 He married Mary Lycett, daughter of William Edward Lycett, on 8 September 1858.1 He died on 30 March 1923 at age 92.1
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 1st West Yorkshire Yeomanry.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Wakefield in 1874.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Wakefield between 1885 and 1892.1 He was created 1st Baronet Green, of Wakefield, co. York and Ken Hill, co.
