     Eleanor Basset is the daughter of James Basset and Katherine Mathew.2,3 She married Sir Rice Mansel, son of Jenkin Mansel and Edith Kyme, on 17 May 1511.3
     She was also known as Eleanor Bassett.3 Her married name became Mansel. From 17 May 1511, her married name became Maunsell.

     Lady Jane Cavendish was the daughter of William Cavendish, 1st Duke of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Elizabeth Basset.1 She married Charles Cheyne, 1st Viscount Newhaven, son of Francis Chiene of Cogenho and Anne Fleetwood, in 1654.1 She died on 8 October 1669.1
     From 1654, her married name became Cheyne.1

     Sir Thomas Mansel, 1st Bt. was the son of Sir Edward Mansel and Lady Jane Somerset.2 He married, secondly, Jane Pole, daughter of Thomas Pole.2 He married, firstly, Hon. Mary Mordaunt, daughter of Lewis Mordaunt, 3rd Lord Mordaunt and Elizabeth Darcy, on 30 May 1582.1 He died on 20 December 1631.1
     He was also known as Thomas Maunsell.3 He was appointed Knight before 1593.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Glamorgan in 1593/94.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Glamorgan from 1603 to 1604.1 He was created 1st Baronet Mansel [England] on 22 May 1611.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Glamorgan from 1622 to 1623.2

     Sir Lewis Mansel, 2nd Bt. was born circa 1594.1 He was the son of Sir Thomas Mansel, 1st Bt. and Hon. Mary Mordaunt.2 He married, secondly, Katherine Lewis, daughter of Sir Edward Lewis.2 He married, firstly, Lady Katharine Sydney, daughter of Robert Sydney, 1st Earl of Leicester and Barbara Gamage, after 1603.1 He married, thirdly, Lady Elizabeth Montagu, daughter of Henry Montagu, 1st Earl of Manchester and Catharine Spencer, on 25 August 1627.2 He died on 4 April 1638.1
     He was appointed Knight in 1603.1 He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn.2 He was educated at Brasenose College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Mansel [E., 1611] on 20 December 1631.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Glamorgan from 1636 to 1637.2
