Anne Jane Codrington1

     Anne Jane Codrington was the daughter of Admiral Sir Henry John Codrington and Helen Jane Smith.2 She married Henry Stormont Finch-Hatton, 13th Earl of Winchilsea, son of George William Finch-Hatton, 10th Earl of Winchilsea and Frances Margaretta Rice, on 12 January 1882.1 She died on 20 June 1924.1
     Her married name became Finch-Hatton. After her marriage, Anne Jane Codrington was styled as Countess of Winchilsea on 7 September 1898.

Admiral Sir Henry John Codrington1

     Admiral Sir Henry John Codrington was born on 17 October 1808.1 He was the son of Admiral Sir Edward Codrington and Jane Hall.2 He married, firstly, Helen Jane Smith, daughter of C. Webb Smith, on 9 April 1849.1 He married, secondly, Catherine Compton, daughter of Henry Combe Compton and Charlotte Mills, on 8 October 1869.2 He died on 4 August 1877 at age 68.2
     He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)1 He gained the rank of Admiral of the Fleet in the Royal Navy.1

Guy Montagu George Finch-Hatton, 14th Earl of Winchilsea1

     Guy Montagu George Finch-Hatton, 14th Earl of Winchilsea was born on 28 May 1885.1 He was the son of Henry Stormont Finch-Hatton, 13th Earl of Winchilsea and Anne Jane Codrington.1,2 He married Margaretta Armstrong Drexel, daughter of Anthony Joseph Drexel II and Margarita Armstrong, on 8 June 1910.1 He died on 10 February 1939 at age 53.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1908 in the Royal East Kent Yeomanry.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (D.S.C.)1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in dispatches.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Air Force.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1919.1 He was member of the London Stock Exchange.1 He succeeded as the 14th Earl of Winchilsea [E., 1556] on 14 August 1927.2 He succeeded as the 9th Earl of Nottingham [E., 1681] on 14 August 1927.2 He succeeded as the 14th Viscount of Maidstone [E., 1623] on 14 August 1927.2 He succeeded as the 15th Baronet Finch, of Eastwell, Kent [E., 1611] on 14 August 1927.2 He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Finch [E., 1660] on 14 August 1927.2 He succeeded as the 9th Baron Finch of Daventry, co. Northampton [E., 1674] on 14 August 1927.2

     Catherine Compton was born before 1854. She was the daughter of Henry Combe Compton and Charlotte Mills.2,3 She married, firstly, Admiral A. Aitchinson before 1869.1 She married, secondly, Admiral Sir Henry John Codrington, son of Admiral Sir Edward Codrington and Jane Hall, on 8 October 1869.1 She died on 4 April 1880.1
     From before 1869, her married name became Aitchinson.1 Her married name became Codrington.

     Henry Combe Compton was born on 6 January 1789.2 He is the son of John Compton.3 He married Charlotte Mills, daughter of William Mills and Elizabeth Digby, on 16 January 1810.2 He died on 27 November 1866 at age 77.2
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)2 He lived at The Manor House, Minstead, Hampshire, EnglandG.1
