     Christopher Bethell-Codrington was born in October 1764.² He was the son of Edward Codrington and Rebecca le Sturgeon.² He married Hon. Caroline Georgina Harriet Foley, daughter of Thomas Foley, 2nd Baron Foley of Kidderminster and Lady Henrietta Stanhope, on 16 August 1796.² He died on 4 February 1843 at age 78.
     He was given the name of Christopher Codrington at birth.² On 17 November 1797 his name was legally changed to Christopher Bethell-Codrington by Royal Licence.² He lived at Dodington Park, Gloucestershire, England^G.²

     William John Bethell was born in November 1768.¹ He was the son of Edward Codrington and Rebecca le Sturgeon.² He married Anna Maria Chaloner, daughter of William Chaloner and Emma Harvey.¹
     He was given the name of William John Codrington at birth.¹ On 12 March 1798 his name was legally changed to William John Bethell by Royal Licence.¹

     William Chaloner was born on 14 August 1745.² He was the son of William Chaloner and Mary Finny.² He married Emma Harvey, daughter of William Harvey, on 8 August 1771.² He died on 8 May 1793 at age 47.²
     He lived at Guisborough, Yorkshire, England^G.¹

     Anna Maria Chaloner was born on 22 August 1780.² She was the daughter of William Chaloner and Emma Harvey.² She married William John Bethell, son of Edward Codrington and Rebecca le Sturgeon.¹ She died on 7 December 1861 at age 81.¹
     Her married name became Bethell.¹

     Admiral Sir Edward Codrington was born on 27 April 1770.¹ He was the son of Edward Codrington and Rebecca le Sturgeon.² He married Jane Hall, daughter of Jasper Hall, on 27 December 1802.¹ He died on 28 April 1851 at age 81.¹
     He gained the rank of Admiral of the Blue.¹ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.)¹ He fought in the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805, in command H.M.S. Orion.¹ He fought in the Battle of Navarino in 1827, in command of the Allied fleets.¹ He was appointed Knight, Order of St. Lazarus.¹ He was appointed Knight, Order of St. George of Greece.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Devonport between 1832 and 1839.¹ He had another son and two other daughters.¹

     Jasper Hall lived at Old Windsor, Berkshire, England^G, and.¹ He lived at Otterburn, Hexham, Northumberland, England^G.¹

     Jane Hall was the daughter of Jasper Hall.² She married Admiral Sir Edward Codrington, son of Edward Codrington and Rebecca le Sturgeon, on 27 December 1802.¹ She died on 21 January 1837.¹
     From 27 December 1802, her married name became Codrington.

     General Sir William John Codrington was born on 26 November 1804.¹ He was the son of Admiral Sir Edward Codrington and Jane Hall.² He married Mary Ames, daughter of Levi Ames, on 7 May 1836.¹ He died on 6 August 1884 at age 79.¹
     He fought in the Crimean War in 1855.¹ He was Commander-in-Chief of the British forces in the Crimea in 1855.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the Coldstream Guards.¹ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.)¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Greenwich between 1857 and 1859.¹ He held the office of Governor of Gibraltar between 1859 and 1865.¹

     Levi Ames is the son of Levi Ames and Anna Maria Poole.²
     He lived at The Hyde, Hertfordshire, England^G.¹

     Mary Ames was the daughter of Levi Ames.² She married General Sir William John Codrington, son of Admiral Sir Edward Codrington and Jane Hall, on 7 May 1836.¹ She died on 28 June 1898.¹
     She held the office of Woman of the Bedchamber to HM Queen Victoria.¹ She was appointed Lady, Royal Order of Victoria and Albert (V.A.)¹ From 7 May 1836, her married name became Codrington.
