Sir Herbert Meade-Fetherstonhaugh and Margaret Isabel Frances Glyn.² She married Brigadier Michael James Babington Smith, son of Sir Henry Babington Smith and Lady Elisabeth Mary Bruce, on 28 September 1943.¹ She died on 22 November 2001 at age 84.³
     Her married name became Babington Smith. In 1990 she was granted the rank of an earl's daughter.¹

     Brigadier Michael James Babington Smith was born on 20 March 1901 at Istanbul, Turkey.³ He was the son of Sir Henry Babington Smith and Lady Elisabeth Mary Bruce.⁴ He married Lady Jean Mary Meade-Fetherstonhaugh, daughter of Admiral Hon.      From 9 November 1876, her married name became Bruce. After her marriage, Lady Constance Mary Carnegie was styled as Countess of Elgin and Kincardine on 9 November 1876. She was appointed Imperial Order of the Crown of India (C.I.)³

     James Carnegie, 9th Earl of Southesk was born on 16 November 1827 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹ He was the son of Sir James Carnegie of Kinnaird, 5th Bt. and Charlotte Lysons.¹ He married, firstly, Lady Catherine Hamilton Noel, daughter of Charles Noel, 1st Earl of Gainsborough and Arabella Hamlyn-Williams, on 19 June 1849 at Exton Park, Rutland, England^G.¹ He married, secondly, Lady Susan Catherine Mary Murray, daughter of Alexander Edward Murray, 6th Earl of Dunmore and Lady Catherine Herbert, on 29 November 1860.² He died on 21 February 1905 at age 77.

     From 19 June 1849, her married name became Carnegie.
